Buying a car from an auction (sample process)

I am going to take you through a typical process of buying a car from an auction;
  • Search for the vehicle that you are interested in. In this example, I use Toyota corolla NZE, a very popular Japanese car.
  • Then, i send 100,000 JPY (about Kes 104,000) for bidding deposit
  • I get a good Corolla NZE, 2005 Lot number is 37, Auction house- USS Kyushu, Bid price- 285,000 JPY (about Kes. 297,000) I use those details on the bidding form
  • If i win the bid,  I send the balance (297,000-104,000= Kes 193,000 )
  • Finally, I pay other fees which are:
Auction agent fee- 68,000 JPY
Domestic Transport- 15,000 JPY
Jevic Inspection fee- 23,000 JPY
Freight- 80,000 JPY

Total Fees- 186,000 JPY (Kes. 194,000)
Total cost-  193,000+194,000= Kes. 387,000

The total cost of the corolla NZE  (C&F) is Kes. 387,000
The DUTY for this car (1500 cc) is about 240,000
Other misc costs- 50,000

Total cost of registered car is  roughly Kes. 677,000

This seems unrealistic but its actually possible. With auction direct, you can save about 200k or much more depending on the vehicle. You can always contact me if you need any clarification. I will also take you through the process for a small fee.

Why Buy Cars straight from the Auction?

Through this method, you can purchase a vehicle directly from local auto auctions in Japan. Why the auction?
  • You can save a lot of money. All you need is the money to pay for the bid off price(to a registered auction agent), A service commission (for the auction service), Jevic Inspection fee and a minimal transportation cost.
  • Choose from thousands of vehicles: Auctions are held five days a week in many auction houses. There are more than 100,000 vehicles in about 70 auction houses each week
